Description

The Old Bronze Nepali Green Tara statue embodies exquisite craftsmanship and deep spiritual significance, originating from Nepal in the early 20th century. Standing at 38.5 cm tall, this statue is a remarkable representation of Green Tara, a revered figure in Buddhist tradition known for her compassion and swift assistance.

The statue is skillfully fire gilded with 24-karat gold, enhancing its beauty and providing a radiant finish. The intricate details, including turquoise accents and the floral motifs on her throne, reflect the high level of artistry that characterizes traditional Nepali craftsmanship. Green Tara is often depicted seated in a relaxed posture, symbolizing her readiness to respond to the needs of sentient beings.

The Vitarka mudra, signified by her raised right hand, represents the transmission of wisdom and intellectual discussions—an essential aspect of teaching and enlightenment in Buddhism. This serene icon serves not only as a decorative piece but also as a profound symbol of the values of kindness and encouragement in spiritual practice.

Nepal’s rich cultural history is intertwined with Buddhism, where the arts have flourished under various dynasties, making this statue a significant artifact that captures the essence of its origin. This sculpture is a perfect addition for those seeking to enhance their spiritual environment or to appreciate the artistry of Nepalese culture.
