Description

This exquisite Old Bronze Nepali Buddha statue stands at a height of 23.5 cm and is notable for its fire gilding with 24 karat gold, making it a striking example of Nepali artistry. Originating from Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, this statue represents the Bhumisparsha mudra, a gesture in which the Buddha touches the earth, symbolizing enlightenment and the victory of goodness over evil.

Crafted during the middle 20th century, this piece reflects the traditional methods of bronze casting that have been practiced in Nepal for centuries. The intricate details of the statue, from its serene facial expression to the flowing robes, offer insight into the meticulous craftsmanship that defines Nepali sculptures. The dimensions of 17.1 cm wide and 12.5 cm deep enhance its presence, while a weight of 2.25 kg adds a substantial feel, emphasizing its quality and status as a treasured collectible.

Nepal, steeped in a history rich with Buddhist traditions, has long been a center for spiritual artistry, where these statues serve as aids for meditation and symbols of peace. This Buddha statue is not only a decorative piece but a meaningful representation of the cultural and spiritual legacy of Nepal, making it a remarkable addition to any collection or sacred space.
