This exquisite antique wooden Indian temple panel, standing at 53.5 cm tall, is a remarkable piece that hails from the 18th century. Originally crafted as part of a temple chariot, this panel reflects the artistic richness and cultural heritage of India. The intricate carvings showcase the skilled craftsmanship of the artisans of that era, emphasizing the importance of religious art in Indian architecture.

The panel's depiction of a deity, possibly indicative of Hindu iconography, illustrates the reverence for divinity within temple worship. Each detail is meticulously rendered, showcasing traditional motifs that resonate with the spiritual and aesthetic values of Indian culture. The choice of wood as the material not only adds to the authenticity of the piece but also highlights the sustainable practices of historical art forms.

Originating in a region renowned for its vibrant temple festivals, where chariots are used to convey deities during processions, this panel serves as a poignant reminder of the deep-rooted traditions that continue to influence contemporary Indian spirituality. Its weight of 3.41 kg and dimensions—15.4 cm in width and 13.4 cm in depth—make it a striking decorative piece for any setting, inviting admiration and contemplation on India's rich artistic legacy.
