This exquisite antique ivory Buddha statue, sourced from Burma (Myanmar), stands at a height of 6.3 cm and features intricate craftsmanship emblematic of the 19th-century Mandalay style. The statue is elegantly carved from delicate ivory, which reflects the rich artisanal traditions of Burma, known for its high-quality ivory sculptures.

The design prominently showcases a serene Buddha with a thoughtful expression, symbolizing enlightenment and peace. This piece is notable for its dual representation of Buddha, each statue displaying unique poses that convey various teachings and aspects of Buddhist philosophy. The statue embodies the Bhumisparsha mudra, a gesture representing the earth-touching pose, often associated with the moment of the Buddha's enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.

Burma has a deeply rooted Buddhist heritage, and its historical significance in the spread of Buddhism across Southeast Asia plays an essential role in making such artifacts highly revered. Owning this statue allows one to appreciate not only its aesthetic beauty but also its historical and cultural dimensions, linking the past with the present through the lens of spirituality and artistry. This antique ivory Buddha statue serves as a striking representation of faith, craftsmanship, and Burmese history, making it a valuable addition to any collection.
